Education and background
Jesus Zuniga was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in Portland, a small town outside of Corpus Christi, Texas. Growing up, he worked in his parents’ restaurant, where he developed a strong work ethic from an early age.
A first-generation American, Jesús was the first in his family to graduate from high school, college, and law school. He earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Philosophy and Political Science (Cum Laude) from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, where his lifelong goal of becoming an attorney took root. That dream was inspired by a conversation with his mother, whose initial doubts only strengthened his resolve to succeed.
Following his undergraduate studies, Jesús attended Baylor Law School, graduating in 2017. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas (November 3, 2017), Bar Card No. 24106629.
After law school, Jesús began practicing in Waco, Texas, before moving to Austin, where he worked for some of the largest personal injury firms in the state. During this time, he refined his litigation skills but grew disillusioned with the high-volume, settlement-driven environment that treated clients as numbers rather than people. He then spent a brief period in commercial litigation, where he realized that defending large corporations was not aligned with his values or purpose.
