Lesly Martinez

Litigation Paralegal

Home » Lesly Martinez

Lesly Martinez is a Litigation Paralegal at Rodriguez Law Firm with over 10 years of experience in the legal field. She works on car, truck, rideshare, pedestrian, dog bite, slip and fall, and premises liability claims, handling demands, negotiations, and discovery and litigation preparation. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Lesly is guided by a simple principle — listen to clients, keep them informed, and always be honest with them.

Education and background

Lesly Martinez was born in Guatemala and grew up in Northern Virginia. Her father is from Guatemala and her mother from El Salvador, and she has travelled to both countries throughout her life and feels connected to each of them.

She earned her Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Law and Society from George Mason University, and plans to attend law school in the near future. Over more than a decade in the legal field she has worked at several law firms, joining Rodriguez Law Firm around a year and a half ago. She was drawn to the profession by an interest in learning how laws and legal procedures work, and in finding ways to use that knowledge to help people.

Lesly is fluent in English and Spanish. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, learning new things, and travelling.

How Lesly Supports Your Case

As a Litigation Paralegal, Lesly focuses on the stages where a claim is built and pressed. She prepares demand packages, negotiates with insurance carriers, and handles discovery and litigation preparation for cases that cannot be resolved without filing suit.

She works most often on car accident, truck accident, rideshare accident, pedestrian accident, dog bite, slip and fall, and premises liability claims, working alongside the firm's attorneys on each file.

What to Expect When Working With Lesly

Many of the clients Lesly meets come to Rodriguez Law Firm after a poor experience elsewhere. The complaint she hears most is not about the outcome of a case but about the silence around it — lawyers who stopped returning calls, or claims that sat untouched for months. Her response is straightforward: listen to a client's concerns, keep them informed, and be honest with them even when the news is not what they hoped for.

Clients working with Lesly can expect to know where their case stands at every step, and to have someone pushing for the best result the facts will support. She describes the most rewarding part of her work as taking the stress of handling a claim off a client's shoulders, and says what sets Rodriguez Law Firm apart is that its attorneys genuinely care about the people they represent.

Working on the litigation side has also shown her how often a case turns on evidence gathered in the first few minutes after a crash.

"Evidence makes a huge difference. Often our clients don't take photos or videos of the accident scene or their injuries. Getting a photo of the other person's driver's licence is very important too, not only their insurance information."

The other thing she wishes every new client understood is that a claim takes time and patience, and that no two cases follow the same path. Her guiding principle is one she applies to every client she works with: do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
